I asked people five question in order to get feedback about my final trailer. As you can see from this there were a variety of answers however, I think that overall most people said that they thought that it fitted with the genre that we had chosen. This is good as it suggest that we accomplished what we wanted to accomplish. There were a variety of different answers for what the audience liked about the trailer and what they though we could have improved. I think that overall, they like that the trailer build tension however, felt that the music could have been more relevant to the horror genre. Lastly, nearly all of the people that I asked said that they would watch the movie after seeing the trailer. I think that this suggests that our trailer was successful. I then found out what different people thought about my poster and magazine cover. Overall, i think that they liked the shadowed photo on the poster as it stood out and was eye-catching however, i think that i could have improved by making the writing bigger and in a more horror themed font. For my magazine cover, i think that they liked the layout of the writing and photo and the puzzled background as this gave a mysterious feel however, i think i could improve my magazine by adding more information and making the photo seem more professional.
Research and planning
In my research and planning i displayed my work in lots of different ways. I used the search engine google to research different horror movie trailers and to strengthen my knowledge on what makes a good horror movie trailer and why. This became an important and useful thing throughout the research and planning as it allowed me to search anything I didn't know and learn new things throughout the process. Other websites that became important during my Research and Planning were Pinterest, Prezi, Storyboardthat and Sirv. These three websites allowed me to present my work on my Weebly blog in a unique way and allowed me to make my blog eye-catching and enjoyable for readers and allowed me to develop my media skills. Pinterest allowed me to present what my characters appearance will be and what sort of image i want to give my character. This allows me to easily create a persona for my character whilst sharing it on my blog. Storyboardthat is a creative way to visually communicate with the readers of my blog whilst presenting them with my storyline. I think that it was important to try out new ways to display my research and planning to ensure that I developed and created new skills throughout the process. Sirv especially allowed me to present my work in a unique and visual way as this was something that i hadn't seen before, and looked further into as i wanted to display my location shots in this 360 degree format. Although I didn't end up displaying all of my location shots in this way, I think that I showed the development of my skills in this area as i challenged myself to use this new website when I didn't know anything about it. PowerPoint also became a valuable part of how i displayed my research and planning. Although i already new how to use this, i think by displaying my work in yet another way it shows how technology can be used in a variety of ways to present Research and Planning to the readers of my blog. I used the software iMovie when I evaluated the horror movie trailers that i looked at. This was a software that i wasn't used to however, it was easily to use and allowed me to again use technology in a different way. Screen records was another thing that became a great way to show my readers of my blog my research and planning. I used quicktime to record my screen when I was making my mood-board on fireworks. This displayed my work in a way where i could communicate in this visual and unique way. Evaluation In my evaluation I again used iMovie to display my work. This allowed me to develop my skills further and challenge myself to improve my skills. I think that iMovie is a creative way to show to the audience how I am evaluating my findings. On iMovie I used a voiceover so that i could communicate with the audience in a different way and so that my blog has a variety of creative ways that provide both audio and visual aspects to the audience and readers of my blog. I used my iPhone to take pictures as this is a visual way to evaluate my final products and ancillary tasks. I think that this is a good way to display my work as i am engaging with the audience in a visual way and an auditory way. We also used my iPhone to record people answering question about what they thought of our final trailer. This meant that we could evaluate whether we successfully met the aims and objectives that we wanted to meet at the beginning of the research and planning. I then used my iPhone to message people so that they could evaluate my ancillary task which in turn allowed me to see where I did well and where i could of improved no when making my magazine and poster. i took a screenshot of these messages and then evaluated my findings. I used Powerpoint to display a part of my evaluation as this is another way to visually communicate with the readers of my blog. Lastly, i used a blog post on my Weebly blog as this allows me to display my work in a written format and include pictures which will be more engaging for the readers and audience. Conclusion Overall, I think that I used different technologies to develop my skills during both my research and planning and my evaluation. This allowed me to feel confident in my approach and to display to the readers of my blog how i came to make my final trailer and ancillary tasks and what i think I did well and could do better next time. |
