I have made an evaluation of task 1. This is to wrap up my thoughts about the trailers I have looked at. Above, I have looked at influence's from media (trailers and music videos) to look at what makes the videos effective and what I want to avoid when planning and making my trailer. When looking at different music videos and trailers i found that Mise en Scene played a vital role in the successfulness of the video and how the audience perceived certain things. I found that lighting in particular set the scene and low key lighting seemed to be used in lots of the trailers to make the audience feel scared and fearful.
Overall, i think that low key lighting and chiaroscuro lighting is essential in making a horror trailer and that the colours red and black are significant to this genre. I also found that particular costume could automatically paint the character as a victim or antagonist therefore, this is important and can give the audience cues of the characters. When making my first mood-board i wanted to show what we thought makes a horror movie scary and what we found effective when looking at horror movie trailers. The first thing we did was discuss this and we all found that we thought that masks were effective in creating the perfect villain character in the horror movie as you could not establish the characters identity making there true form hidden therefore, adding suspense to the film/trailer. Looking at the different masks online, i found that there are a wide variety of masks that i think have potential in making the perfect horror character who will be the main focus of the film and trailer. When looking at the different pictures i think that animals seemed to be a re-occuring theme as well as a mask with a set emotion on its face. For example, a smiling mask. I think that animal masks are effective in horrors as it makes animals more human-like which we consider as abnormal resulting in us feeling scared when we see the character. Also, i think that masks with a set emotion are effective when creating the perfect horror character as they seem fake due to them having a constant set emotion. This makes them seem emotionless as we cannot see their emotions change. Below is my annotation of my first MoodBoard: When thinking about what was a re-occurance in different horror movies and trailers, we found that the abandonment seemed to happen again after again. For example, an abandoned road, shed, house, person. I decided to take pictures from the internet of different locations that i think would be perfect of our horror movie trailer due to most of them following this theme of abandonment. We also found that being locked in and trapped seemed to happen a lot in horror movie's and this adds suspense as the audience are routing for the main character that they are following to get out and be free from the nightmare situation they have been put in. Having this character locked in makes it feel like their isn hope of them escaping and makes the audience feel tense and on the edge of their seat every time the character gets close to escaping. Below is my annotation of my second MoodBoard: Lastly, I again looked at what seemed to be a common thing in horrors. When looking i found that low key lighting and chiaroscuro lighting seemed to play an important role in horror movies as they create suspense due to they audience perhaps seeing things that the character cannot see or waiting on the edge of their seat for something to suddenly appear. Shadows can also be created by this use of lighting therefore, this again creates a eerie and tense feeling to the shot. I think we should use low key lighting and chiaroscuro lighting in our horror movie trailer to add suspense and to emphasise the fear that the character is feeling, therefore making the audience feel this fear themselves. Below is my annotation of my third MoodBoard:
1. Which of the four quadrant(s) would your film appeal to?

When thinking of how we could present our media skills in a new and inivitive way and portray our Actor/Actresses shots, I thought the sims style would fit perfectly to show the characters full body ( Height, hair colour, eye colour etc). As this is a well-known and popular game i think this is perfect as it will be interest our target audience. In our real actor/actress shots we will add text around the actors and actresses to give the viewers more information. By using this style that is used from the sims PC game, we will be able to show the characters whole body and well as being able to say why we have decided on using this actor/actress in the form of text.

Above, we see Daisy's room. We wanted Daisy's room to seem girly and a room you'd typically associate with a teenager so that we could see that Daisy was a 'normal' teenager.
Above, we see Daisy's house. This is an important part of our trailer as we are going to have daisy at the window and the two antagonist's watching her. Due to a home being considered as a safe place, we are disturbing this norm and making her home a place where she is constantly being watched. I think this will make the audience feel scared for Daisy and add a fear factor due this safety of the home being broken.
Above, you can see the streets where Daisy will be followed by the two Antagonists. These will be residential streets to make the audience feel like the Antagonists could be anyone and that Daisy may have a chance of getting away from them. These streets are like any streets which creates a realism to the audience and puts the idea of paranoia in the audience brain that it could happen to anyone.
Lastly, we can see the forest in the video above. This is an important location in our trailer as it is where our victim will encounter the antagonist and get kidnapped. We chose a forest as we believe they are typically thought of as a scary and isolated place. This makes the audience feel like the Victim had little chance of escaping from the Antagonists.Filming in the woods will make these scenes feel eerie and again give this sense of Daisy having no hope due to her being isolated and left alone with her two kidnappers.
Our two main actors (Alex Tatnell and Max Talliss) have dropped out therefore, we have had to find new actors at short notice. This meant that we had to be less choosy about what our characters looked like however, we have since discussed this and belive that due to our characters wearing masks throughout the duration of the trailer that this does not matter.
Our main character has also changed due to convenience and other circumstances. Rather than Imogen Eveson playing the Victim we have now decided that I will play our Victim character in our Trailer. It wasn't hard to find our character due to us being a girl group and in a girl school. We finally decided that the most convenient person to play the Victim character would be me as I am reliable and knowing what is expected of the character.

Above, we can see two men who are our actors. They will play the Antagonists in our trailer. We think that although they are not who we originally chose, they still fit the role as they are tall which can easily be portrayed as intimidating. As our character are wearing a mask most of the time their facial features do not matter as much, however Oscars facial hair makes him seem older and adds to him being the typical man that won't allow anything to get in his way.
Above, you can see that I am playing the Victim in our trailer. By having a member of our team it allows to feel like we have a reliable actress and that we can film our trailer anytime we need to. We also wanted to make sure that the actress was a teenager to ensure that this criteria for our victim was met. As I am tall I think that this breaks this stereotype of the victim being small and petite and reinforces to the audinece that anyone colud be a victim.
Above are the pictures of our props that we took pictures of and edited. These are the props we will be using in our trailer. They are:
Gun
We will be using a realistic looking toy gun as a prop in ourtrailer. This will make the antagonists seem more threatening to the audience. This prop will be seen throughout the trailer and will foreshadow and what happens at the end of the trailer, when we see our victim get shot by one of the men.
Mask
One of the most important props that we are using is a mask. This is to hide the identity of our two antagonists as well as increasing the fear factor for the audience watching. By using a mask it allows the audience to feel as though no-one can be trusted.
Phone
We are using phones in our trailer to show the communication between our victim and her friend as well as the two antagonists. This is good as it alows the characters to communicate with each other resulting in the audience finding out information that they would otherwise not know. This also allows us to make the film seem modern and realistic as technology plays an important role in modern day society.
Photo
We are using a photo in our trailer to show to the audiece that our victim use to be a normal teen as well as using this to imply to the audience that our 'victim' may be hiding a dark secret herself.
News report
We are also going to make a fake news report talking about the murder of a young male aka 'the boyfriend' of our victim. This will link to the photo and further imply to the audience that she had soemthing to do with it.

We have decided that our main character should wear minimal make up to present her as a vulnerable young adult. Heavy make-up is usually asscoiated with a rebellious teenager therefore, we wanted to avoid this stereotype as we want our audience to feel sorry for this character although her past actions are unclear. To do this we wanted her to seem vulnerable and innocent therefore, we believe this can be done by our victim wearing minimal make-up on her face.
As our victim ends up being shot, i decided to test out whether i could make a realistic gun wound with liquid latex, red make-up, tissue paper and foundation. Although, I attempted this I will not be using this make-up in the trailer as believe that it does not look very realistic therefore, will not be using it to avoid our trailer looking unrealistic.
When thinking about what we wanted our main character to wear, we thought about the stereotypes and social norms. Firstly, we established that we wanted our character to be wearing an outfit that would be apporpriate for school as we wanted our character to show that she does not like breaking rules ( breaking school dress code). We then thought about what colours we wanted our victim to wear and decided that we would pair a floral white t-shir with the typical black bodicon skirt worn to school. White is stereotypically linked to innocent, this therefore creates our character as vulnerably and innocent. Lastly, i thought that having a floral print would show tot he audience that the character is young. This reinforces, that she is vulnerable and weak.
When we thought about what we wanted the costume and make-up of our antagonists to be we thought that we would meet the stereotype that we know. We thought about what we all believed this stereotype would be and have said that our two antagonists will wear black as this usually warn by criminals to hide themselfs in the dark therefore, reinforcing this fact that they are anonymous figures. We also beleive that they should wear black as this is a contrasp to the white mask. I believe this makes the mask stand out to the audience which continues to make the audience wonder "Who are these people behind the masks'.
Our two actors will be wearing mask in our trailer. When researching masks we found out that they are used for a variety of reason, for example both to protect and disguises one's self. Our antagonists will be using the masks to disguse themselves as they are about th commit a terrible crime but we believe this may make the audience wonder whether the our victim knows the two antagonists and this is why she is beling targeted.
Lastly, as our two antagonists will be wearing a mask they will not be wearing any make-up in our teaser trailer.

The 25 words are:
- One forgotten memory
- One abandoned house
- Two anonymous figures
- She thought she was safe
- Lost in the woods
- From the men hiding behind the masks

As a group we decided on presenting our 25 word pitch by holding up peices of paper with our 25 words on. We then took pictures of ourselves holding the peices of paper up one by one. After we did this Wai uploaded the photos up onto Final Cut Pro and edited them. We all agreed that the black and white background and the high pitch song (Tiptoe through the Tullips) was effective and fitted with the horror genre of our trailer as well as leaving those who watched it feeling spooked out from the song. Overall, i was really please with how our 24 word pitch came out and hope to use the skills i have learnt creating this when we create our final trailer.

Faceless Production's Snapchat: faceless2017
We decided that to appeal to our audience we needed an active Instagram and Snapchat account for our production company Faceless Productions. We have been uploading images of us making our trailers on these social media links and believe that this is a fun and modern way to interact with fans and a great way to promote and advertise our final trailer. We have decided that we will also include these social media links in our trailer so that the audience who watch the trailer can go and share what they thought of the trailer and find out more about the film.
We have decided to change the name of our film, this is due to us believing that due to us not meeting our storyline exactly (as we don't put our antagonists in masks the whole way through) that the title contradicts the film therefore, we have decided that it is no longer relevant. Due to this we had to come together as a group and decide on a new name. We decided on 'Revenge' as we thing this is relevant to the film and suggests to the audience that the crime being committed is revenge. I am happy now that we have changed the film as I think it will appeal more to our target audience as there will be a clear link between the content of our film trailer and the name of the film.
